Meet up in Baler
A weekly meetup for locals and travelers. The date, time and place can change each week.
See the next meetupThis project should be useful to the people who live and work in Baler as well as the people who visit. That principle will shape how listings, money and stories are handled.
What we intend to do
Listings today
Current listings are free. That does not promise every listing, feature or advertising opportunity will always be free. We may introduce charges later and will explain the price and terms before anyone chooses a paid option.
Owner-confirmed details
We want businesses to verify their own contact details, location, hours and services. Public map listings are now shown with a clear unverified label; we will seek owner confirmation for current details.
Clear paid promotion
If a business pays for a featured placement, visitors should be able to see that plainly. Editorial recommendations and paid spots need different labels.
Room for local voices
Surf culture belongs to Baler’s community. Future guides and stories should credit and pay local contributors where appropriate rather than speaking for them.
Giving back
We would like to direct a small share of future proceeds toward local education or youth surfing, including possible boards or surfer support. This is an intention, not an active fund or a promise of a fixed percentage. Any program should name its partners, publish what was contributed and account for costs before making claims.
Where the project stands
This is an early version of the guide. There are searchable public map directories, but no booking service, live inventory, business claim form or active donation program yet. Business owners can email contact@baler.ph with additions or corrections. Public map entries can also be corrected through OpenStreetMap. We review submitted details before describing them as owner confirmed.
